Friendly, nurturing sessions face-to-face and online

Common Questions

Are the classes suitable for beginners or people with limited mobility?
Absolutely. My gentle yoga classes are designed for all levels, including complete beginners and those with reduced mobility. Whether you are managing arthritis, recovering from an injury, or simply feeling stiff, I offer modifications throughout so everyone can work within their own comfortable range of movement.
What should I expect at a gentle yoga class in Berkhamsted or Hemel Hempstead?
Each session is 75 minutes of gentle Hatha Yoga, combining breathwork, simple postures, and relaxation. The atmosphere is friendly and unhurried. Just bring a mat if you have one, wear comfortable clothing, and arrive a few minutes early.
Do I need to book in advance?
It's best to get in touch before your first class so I know to expect you. After that you can simply turn up each week. You can reach me by email or phone.
What qualifications does Penny have?
I qualified as a British Wheel of Yoga (BWY) teacher in 2004, after ten years as a yoga student. BWY teacher training takes two to three years and is a nationally recognised qualification. I hold current first aid certification and undertake annual professional development.
How much do classes cost?
Face-to-face classes are £10–£12 per session depending on the venue. The Wednesday online class via Zoom is £9 per session. No block booking is required.
What do I need to bring to a face-to-face class?
Please bring your own yoga mat and wear loose, comfortable clothing that lets you move freely. A blanket is useful for the relaxation at the end of the session. Blocks and straps can be helpful but are not essential, especially for your first few classes.
How do the online Wednesday classes work?
The Wednesday evening class is a live, interactive session held via Zoom. Once you book, I will send you the link to join. You practise from home on your own mat and I give individual guidance throughout, just as in a face-to-face class. You will need the Zoom app installed on your device before your first session.
